About MW Pensions Ltd

MW Pensions Ltd is regulated by the Financial Services Authority for the provision of SIPPs MW SIPP Trustees Ltd do not conduct regulated activity and are not regulated

MW Pensions Ltd was formed in 2003 by senior pension professionals – consultants, actuaries and trustees. The company was formed to deal with all the changes that came in with A Day. We didn’t have to amend or adapt our approach – it’s why the business was actually set up.

We believe that high quality advice and professional service standards together with a competitive and transparent fee structure are what advisers and their clients want - but very rarely get. Again, this is why our business was set up and this is what makes us different.

We are completely independent and have no affiliations with insurance companies or financial institutions. We do not give financial advice; we leave that to the experts. Our fees are fixed, with no small print. We neither take nor give commissions, and we don’t have transaction charges – our fees include everything a client needs on a regular basis. We don’t keep our fees artificially low by offering low interest rates on cash balances – we pass everything on to the client. We are definitely not a call centre.

All we do is:

  • SIPPs – provider, trustees and administrators
  • SSASs – trustees, administrators and/or practitioners
  • Corporate Schemes – trustees, independent trustees and consultants

We work with like minded advisers on a reciprocal basis, and wherever possible, develop ‘holistic’ solutions for clients. We keep on top of what is happening in pensions and the marketplace and are entrepreneurial enough to develop propositions that have wide appeal across the industry. Watch this space.

We issue regular newsletters and updates, written in plain English, and advisers who work closely with us can benefit from our specialist technical support. We become their ‘back office’. This website is intended as a resource for advisers and is rapidly becoming a destination site, despite not being featured on search engines.

  Our Services:

SELF-INVESTED PERSONAL PENSIONS (SIPP)

We are providers of the MW SIPP and the MW ACORN SIPP. The former is a “full” SIPP covering the full range of investment options, which are tax free under the new regime. This includes property – commercial, and UK AND OVERSEAS RESIDENTIAL using the genuinely diverse commercial vehicle structure as outlined by HMRC

The MW ACORN SIPP is a “starter” SIPP for people who want to build up a fund, over time, from a relatively low base

We also have SIPP propositions for the Family SIPP and Corporate SIPP structures. Details are available on this website.

In these days of increasing regulation and complexity in pensions, plus the huge impact that pensions have on day to day business issues, it is becoming increasingly necessary to seek specialist advice on pensions.

Our team is comprised of people who understand both pensions and business, and who will address issues from both standpoints and communicate in plain English.
Our services include:-

  •  Independent professional trustee services
  •  Pensions consultancy to corporate advisers and trustees
  •  Pensions due diligence for corporate activity
  •  Technical support and back office services
  •  Training for trustees and staff

  Small Self Administered Schemes (SSAS)

We offer trustee, administrator and practitioner services to advisers and their clients. Although the role of Pensioneer Trustee is now obsolete under the new rules, many clients still feel the need to have an independent trustee, fulfilling a similar role, especially when their presence can maintain an independent specialist signatory to any pension transactions. This may reduce the risk in the eyes of HMRC. The fees are transparent and competitive.

There are still valid reasons for clients to opt for a SSAS over a SIPP, especially in the context of family businesses and the new rules regarding members. We’d be happy to discuss this with you where appropriate.
